Thanks for clicking the URL in my Twitter profile – let me give you a little background on who I am and what I do.

I’m Ernst-Jan Pfauth, a 24-year old guy from Amsterdam who accidentally started blogging in October 2006. Four days after I started experimenting with the new medium, I filmed the Dutch prime minister while he was arguing with a famous journalist Paul Witteman. This post made it to the national news and I fell in love with blogging.

Ever since then, I’ve been spreading the blog love. Not just by writing, but also by giving blog workshops and organizing the international conference BLOG08 (with Pete Cashmore, Hugh MacLeod and Loren Feldman). I’m currently writing a book about blogging for publisher Thomas Rap (part of de Bezige Bij), which will be published in September 2010.

My blogs

I’m mainly blogging for Dutch quality newspaper nrc.next. The blog you’re looking at right now is my personal one. Every two weeks or so, I write a post in which I share my knowledge about blogging. Yet in an original way! Did you know, for example, that Internet is the new LSD?

The movie I mentioned earlier featured on Spotlight Effect, for which I still blog. It grew from a personal blog to an outrageous career magazine for talent.

From November 2007 till January 2009 I have been the editor in chief of The Next Web, a European tech blog which attracts 6,000 readers a day.
