Boris the photographer: San Francisco pics

April 21st, 2008

Life is hard… but not in San Francisco! We arrived yesterday, had a burger in a rooftop restaurant at Union Square, took a swim (see above) and had dinner at Scott Rafer’s house with my favorite British blogger TechCrunch UK’s Mike Butcher and the ambitious guys from Zemanta. Today we’re live reporting from the altsearchengines’ meeting.

Keep an eye on Boris’ photoset, The Next Web Blog and this one to…

On my way to San Francisco!

April 20th, 2008

I’m sitting in a typical airport diner, waiting for the gate to open. That gives me time to tell you I bought a white suit last week. For those of you who don’t know why, I’m glad to tell that it’s one of the most infamous clothings in the Valley. Ask the San Jose Mercury News, ask Micheal Arrington, ask Wired. They’re all familiar with the meaning of the suits:…

First time a story by me hits the Digg frontpage!

April 3rd, 2008

This feels good, while watching Diggnation I noticed that a story I wrote about Kevin Rose made it to the frontpage of world’s largest social bookmarking service: Digg.com. It’s a story about the plans of Kevin with Digg, he’d like to add a recommendation feature. This is certainly a milestone in my blogging career.

Fun work though, and I’m pretty excited about witnessing the organization of such a big event from the inside. How excited, well…, a photo says more than…

This is one proud editor in chief!

March 20th, 2008

Yesterday was hectic day. First I went to the Web 2.0 conference PLUGG in Brussels, to do some hard conference blogging. It was a fairly interesting and well-organized conference. However I did find out that I hate panels. See the Next Web for more coverage.

I had to leave kinda early, to show up at the Dutch Bloggies – The Dutch Oscars for blogs – in The Hague. The Next Web…

Stay fit and prevent RSI: play Bottle Soccer

February 28th, 2008

Number 1 tip to stay fit and prevent RSI is to keep moving. You gotta just do more than just making a walk to the coffee machine. You have to use your muscles and start sweating a bit. Play ping-pong, fussball or.., make up your own game. That’s exactly what we did at the Meganova office.

When I was at Le Web 3 in Paris, I found a pink stress relief…

The Next Web Open Office Road Trip

February 19th, 2008

This month has been rather hectic so far. Reason for this is the Open Office Road trip I’m making with my colleagues from The Next Web. Check out this video with Patrick and me in which we explain what this is all about. It was shot at OpenCoffee Paris.
